Island Records

I was reading Joe's - 'Lines on Life's Blackboard' - blog earlier about what ten songs and one item he would have on a desert island and it got me thinking, what would I take??

It took a long time and a lot of hard choices, but I eventually came up with my final list.

1- Eminem - What You Say I Am

2- Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time

3- Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

4- Muse - Knights of Cydonia

5- The Civil Wars - Falling

6- Biffy Clyro - That Golden Rule

7- Foo Fighters - Everlong

8- Kings Of Leon - The Bucket

9- Snow Patrol - Set Fire to the Third Bar

10- System of a Down - Chop Suey

My item that I would take (assuming that the tunes are already on an IPod or something similar, headphones included) would be my X Stage Lite Pole

What item and music would you take with you? Let me know in the comments :)

Pole Position

  Pole dancing
How many people are now thinking curvy girls in plastic shoes with dollar bills tucked in to their thongs?

Pole fitness
Not sure what to think?

I wasn’t either

Right from when I was young I’d wanted to pole dance, way before I knew about ‘Pole Fitness’

The girls always look so body confident and sexy and feminine.
So when I was about 16, I looked in to doing Pole Dance lessons. I found some classes near me and even managed to convince a friend to join me. For one reason or another she suddenly decided at the last minute that she didn’t want to, and me being me, decided (stupidly) that I couldn’t possibly go on my own (how I regret that now!)
So I got over it and I tried again with another friend. Low and behold, she did the exact same thing.
I decided that fate was telling me not to go.

A few years passed and I was still interested, but couldn’t bring myself to go on my own (yes I’m a chicken!)

Having a nosey at someone’s photos on Facebook one day, I came across some pictures of her pole dancing. I was immediately jealous and regretted not going.
Having scrolled through a few more photos I found out where she did classes and decided there and then that I was going to do it, on my own.

So the next day I Googled the place and sent the manager an email to ask if I could come along to one of the classes. She told me when to come and what to wear and wished me luck.
I did a one to one with one of the instructors so that I’d have a bit of a head start in the class and would feel a bit more confident.

As I’m sure everyone does on the first lesson, I felt incredibly self conscious and didn’t really do as well as I could have, but by the end of it, I knew pole was going to take over my life!

Going Balmy

I’ve always had problematic skin.
I suffer with dry patches, oily patches, blackheads and some sort of rash that is somewhere in between eczema and acne.
The rash can start very suddenly on my chin and spread like wild fire over my whole face and within seconds I look like something from a horror movie. It’s hot and itchy and so far I have found nothing that can treat it.
So when it comes to skincare I have to be incredibly careful what I use. I do a lot of research, read a lot of blogs, watch youtube videos of people’s experience with products and even then I have to do a patch test.
I’d always used an alcohol based cleanser because I wanted to keep my skin bacteria free, but am always left with dry, tight feeling skin which when teamed with a hot itchy rash can be really quite painful.
SO
After much deliberation I decided to try the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm
I know, surprise surprise, but there is a reason why so many people like this stuff.
£34 gets you 100ml of - Moringa seed extract, Wild Sea Fennel, Vitamin E, Orange, Neroli, Mandarin extracts, Jasmine, cedarwood and Rose
A little really does go a long way with this product.
I soak a flannel in hand hot water, ring out and lay it over my face to soften all the grime in my pores. Mix a small amount of the balm (literally I use the size of a sunflower seed) with a few drops of water and massage in to the face in circular motions, working upwards and leaving the eyes until last (to stop any remaining eye make up from spreading around the face). Soak the flannel/ muslin cloth/ whatever you have to hand (within reason, dirty socks aren’t such a great idea) and gently wipe over the face to remove the balm.
You are then left with clean, soft, make up free, fresh feeling skin.
I found that after using it morning and evening for three days my skin was feeling more hydrated, more supple and blackheads were disappearing like magic! I’ve had the cleansing balm for 2 weeks now and have used it everyday, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the pot!
This stuff is going to last me a while.
So considering how little you need to use with each application, £34 really isn’t a lot of money for such a brilliant product.
So there it is.
Now lets all do the Moringa
