Pole dancing
How many people are now thinking curvy girls in plastic shoes with dollar bills tucked in to their thongs?
Pole fitness
Not sure what to think?
I wasn’t either
Right from when I was young I’d wanted to pole dance, way before I knew about ‘Pole Fitness’
The girls always look so body confident and sexy and feminine.
So when I was about 16, I looked in to doing Pole Dance lessons. I found some classes near me and even managed to convince a friend to join me. For one reason or another she suddenly decided at the last minute that she didn’t want to, and me being me, decided (stupidly) that I couldn’t possibly go on my own (how I regret that now!)
So I got over it and I tried again with another friend. Low and behold, she did the exact same thing.
I decided that fate was telling me not to go.
A few years passed and I was still interested, but couldn’t bring myself to go on my own (yes I’m a chicken!)
Having a nosey at someone’s photos on Facebook one day, I came across some pictures of her pole dancing. I was immediately jealous and regretted not going.
Having scrolled through a few more photos I found out where she did classes and decided there and then that I was going to do it, on my own.
So the next day I Googled the place and sent the manager an email to ask if I could come along to one of the classes. She told me when to come and what to wear and wished me luck.
I did a one to one with one of the instructors so that I’d have a bit of a head start in the class and would feel a bit more confident.
As I’m sure everyone does on the first lesson, I felt incredibly self conscious and didn’t really do as well as I could have, but by the end of it, I knew pole was going to take over my life!
